What’s this about then?
Human/Ordinary has existed as a podcast since 2015.
As a concept, the idea that ordinary humans have extraordinary stories has been around since the first storytellers.
Human/Ordinary is a podcast of audio documentaries that explore our cultures, our relationships and all the things that make us human.
Across its first three seasons, producer and host, Sam Loy, has crafted stories about everything from the food we eat to our responses to death and mortality. There’s been balanced political stories, glimpses into suburban Australia, and a lighthearted personal journey into what it takes to be a dickhead.
Now, for season four, Sam is being joined by three other talented independent producers bringing the podcast world more stories, more often.
There’s comedian, host of Mainland Tonight, and winner of the Melbourne Moth Story GRANDSlam (2017), May Jasper; award-winning podcaster (Australian Podcast Awards 2018 – Career and Industry winner – Pomegranate Health), outdoorsman, and actual, real-life scientist, Mic Cavazzini; and Cinnamon Nippard, journalist and podcast producer with work featured internationally on Deutsche Velle, Radio Netherlands, and Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, and locally on Triple J, ABC Radio, and currently, Kinderling Kids’ Radio.
The Human/Ordinary team will be producing four stories each, released fortnightly starting late April. Expect stories on fatherhood, train enthusiasts, rainbow families, hairdressers, window washers, and a tale of death from the Kashmir mountains.
We invite you to join the journey and celebrate the ordinary.
